Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
timeandday (“we”, “us”) provides free browser-based time tools at https://www.timeandday.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the site, and what we do not collect.
1. Summary
timeandday is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not sell personal information.
- Preferences (theme, language, cities, alarm settings) are stored locally in your browser.
- Optional approximate location may be inferred from your IP to suggest a time zone and locale.
- We do not run advertising networks or sell your data. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (see below).
2. Information stored on your device
The site uses browser storage (such as localStorage) so your settings persist between visits. This data stays on your device unless you clear site data in your browser.
- Display preferences: theme (day/night), 12- or 24-hour clock, language, accent options.
- Tool settings: alarm title and ringtone choice, watch-list cities, calendar country preference.
- These values are not uploaded to a timeandday account — there is no sign-in.
3. Approximate location and time zone
To show a useful local time and language suggestion, the site may request approximate geolocation derived from your IP address through a third-party lookup (for example via our /api/geo endpoint). This may include city, region, country, and time zone.
We use this only to improve default clock and locale behavior. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
4. Server logs and technical data
Like most websites, hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process technical request data such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and requested URLs for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
We do not intentionally collect names, emails, or payment details through the product UI.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
timeandday relies mainly on local browser storage for preferences. Essential cookies or similar technologies may be used by the hosting platform for delivery and security.
We use Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js, measurement ID G-7SBEPRQPEY) to collect aggregated usage statistics such as page views, approximate geography, device/browser type, and referral sources. Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers as described in Google’s privacy documentation. You can limit Analytics via browser controls, Google’s opt-out tools, or OS-level tracking protections.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies to sell ads on this site.
6. Third-party services
The site may call external services needed for core features (for example IP-based geolocation) and Google Analytics for traffic measurement. Those providers process data under their own terms. Map or external “open in Maps” links you choose to open are governed by those map providers.
7. Children
timeandday is a general-audience utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for account or marketing purposes. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way that requires deletion, contact us using the details below.
8. Your choices
You can clear stored preferences anytime by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. You can also refuse or limit location-related network requests via browser or network controls; some defaults (such as suggested time zone) may then be less accurate. You may block or delete Analytics cookies through your browser settings.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
